Congratulations to all the winners at the Moose Jaw show, and a big thank you from all the participants to the show crew: Judge Krista Dust was a cheerful and competent presence throughout, as usual. Chairperson Edith Scholz had everything under control, as usual, Ring Boss Ron Ailsby and his able assistant David Scholz kept the Performance rings moving, as usual, our ring steward, Mary Lou Selinger and our gate steward, Carmille Fletcher, along with our capable table steward Karla Folstad, minus her trusty Scott, kept all the paperwork and exhibitors in order with the help of Ivy Bakken. As Llama Canada Statistician, I can't tell you how calming it is to know that the statistics are being taken down correctly! As an exhibitor, I can't tell you how relaxing it is to have people cheerfully doing their jobs! MUCH appreciated!

FLEECE: A nice fleece entry of 10 saw Scholz's Muff OL1 getting a point – she's 8 years old now, Edith. Are you planning on finishing her OL2?

• E-D Katz (David & Edith Scholz) – Grand Champion from the Subsequent Shearing class for 4 points.

• Dragonfly Hot Patoutie (Ron & Sue Ailsby) – Reserve Grand from 2^nd Shearing for 3 points.

COSTUME: This was the very first sanctioned costume class! Points were awarded based on scores awarded:

• Rreal Madrid AoM OL2 PL1 (Ailsby) – 4 points in the Youth class piloted by Andrew Finlay. Not easy for a 15 year old boy to go in the ring as Winnie The Pooh!

• Windfield's Rolling Thunder AoM OL2 PL2 (Ailsby, Dawn Fleming, Shelley Belhumeur, Fran Folkeard) – Grand for 6 points. Sue was a garden gnome, with Flash as her garden.

• Readymade's Desperado (Margaret Lewis)  - Reserve for 5 points with a bedtime motif. This is the second year Margaret and Jim have graced us with their entries and smiling faces from Coaldale, Alberta.

• Dragonfly Fast Eddie AoM (Ailsby) in a Harley Davidson outfit with Dawn as his motorcycle mama – 4 points.

• Readymade's Accelerator (Margaret Lewis) – 4 points with Jim Twa ("Just living up to my reputation!") as clowns.

OBSTACLE LEVEL ONE: A very nice class won by Bruce & Karen Frank's first homegrown entry with a superb score!

• Mellyns Cheeto – 1^st leg, 9 points, score of 98.5! Bruce Frank handling.

• Readymade's Accelerator (Lewis) – 1^st leg, 8 points, 97. Margaret Lewis handling.

• St Louis Rainman DFY (Ailsby/Fleming/Belhumeur) – 2^nd leg, 7 points, 94. Sue Ailsby handling.

• Readymade's The First Lady (Lewis) – 1^st leg, 7 points, 93. Margaret Lewis handling.

• Dragonfly On A Ritz MMISL AoM (Cyndi Egbert) – 3^rd leg EARNED THE TITLE! 5 points, 89.5. Dawn Fleming handling.

• Dragonfly Fast Eddie AoM (Ailsby) – 2^nd leg, 5 points, 89. Dawn handling.

• WSL Windtalker (Ailsby/Fleming/Belhumeur) – 1^st leg, 3 points, 82. Dawn handling (busy little bee!)

OBSTACLE LEVEL TWO: Yikes, there was some good handling going on at this show! I understand training helps too…

• E-D Caramel AoM OL2 (Scholz) – 9 points, score of 98/100, Edith Scholz handling.

• Castlerock's Smooth Talker AoM OL1 (Frank) – 1^st leg. Smoothie finished both his Award of Merit and Obstacle 1 title in Lethbridge the previous weekend. Obviously spent the week practicing because they, too, earned 9 points and a score of 98! Edith and Caramel were just a titch faster on course, giving them the win.

• Dragonfly Darkwing Duck AoM OL1 PL1 (Ailsby) – 2^nd leg. 8 points, 96, handled by Sue.

• Dragonfly On A Ritz MMISL AoM OL1 (Egbert) – 1^st leg. 7 points, 93.5, handled by Dawn.

• Rreal Madrid AoM OL2 PL1 (Ailsby) – 6 points, 90. Yes, the old guy gets hauled to a show every time there's a kid in the neighbourhood! Handled by Andrew Finlay.

OBSTACLE THREE: What a good guy! We're actually going to practice for the next show, I promise! And he WILL jump into the back of the truck in Pack Three! I promise!

• Windfield's Rolling Thunder AoM OL2 PL2 (Ailsby/Fleming/Belhumeur/Folkeard) – 1^st leg, 5 points, 89, Sue handling.

PACK TWO: No Qualifying in Pack One or Three, unfortunately.

• Dragonfly Tsurreal AoM OL2 PL1 – 2^nd leg, 8 points, 97/100.

High Score in Performance to Frank's Mellyns Cheeto with an outstanding 98.5/100.

HALTER:

• As usual, E-D Dusty Rose AoM OL1 (owned by Scholz', shown by Edith) was the only llady in Female Light Fibre, so no points for that.

• E-D Caramel AoM OL2 was Medium Grand, Reserve to Readymade's The First Lady, owned and shown by Margaret Lewis.

• Margaret's Readymade's Halcyon Daisy took Heavy Grand, shown by hubby Jim Twa, and her Readymade's Windfall was Reserve.

BEST FEMALE to David & Edith's E-D Dusty Rose AoM OL1.

Male Medium Fibre Grand Champion for 2 points was Margaret Lewis' Readymade's One Night Stand, with Reserve Grand and 1 point to Ailsby/Fleming/Belhumeur's St Louis Rainman DFY.

Male Heavy Fibre Grand was Frank's Castlerock's Smooth Talker AoM OL1, with Ailsby/Fleming/Belhumeur's youngster St Louis Tumbleweed DFY going Reserve for 1 point.

BEST MALE to Bruce & Karen Frank's Castlerock's Smooth Talker AoM OL1.

NON-BREEDING: as usual, this was the biggest class, with 7 animals competing.

Grand Champion and 4 points to Cyndi Egbert's Dragonfly On A Ritz MMISL AoM OL1 handled by Edith Scholz (thank you!).

Reserve Grand for 3 points to Ailsby's Dragonfly Darkwing Duck AoM OL1 PL1 handled by Margaret Lewis (thank you!).

Dragonfly Tsurreal AoM OL2 PL1 earned 2 points, and Windfield's Rolling Thunder AoM OL2 PL2 earned 1.

Which brings us to BEST HALTER LLAMA. What a pleasure to see THREE animals in the halter ring with performance titles! BEST HALTER LLAMA to Scholz's E-D DUSTY ROSE AoM OL1, which gives her 16 points and SIX Grand Championships, making her the SECOND FEMALE (and third total) HALTER CHAMPION!

Congratulations, HCh E-D Dusty Rose AoM OL1! We're all proud of you!

And THEN, Edith went on to earn 2 points as Grand Champion in Showmanship, with Bruce Frank earning 1 for Reserve.
